Taking a Step

So. On a email group I belong to we are doing the Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian Study. Our common thread is that we have kids that sometimes we just don't know what to do.

I first read the book when my thirteen year old was 5 and giving her kindergarten teacher a run for the money. I was not where I wanted to be spiritually and I wanted to become a better parent. It helped alot even though all I did was take in the knowledge. I didn't completely let the concepts come into my life.

So.. I am doing this study and I am determined to make it part of my family's life. The focus is having a prayer life. Something that at this moment and time I do not have that great of. I am guilty of being busy.

Then the step. I will pray for each of my children, and my husband. I don't know exactly what scriptures cover the specific needs of my individual children, but that is where the prayer will start.

So.... John 16:23
Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Father, I come to you as a parent that loves her children but sometimes loses my cool. I seek Your will and Your guidance Lord to raise these blessings to love You. You have done so much for our family that we are so thankful for, blessed Lord. Show me what to pray for each of the kids. Make me the loving and compassionate mom they need. In Jesus name, Amen.
