So I was surprised. Jeff got the bathroom door finished and I got the desk finished. I think it looks pretty good. We do plan on getting a piece of pexiglass to go on top so it is a smooth surface since the wood grain is pronounced a bit.

Project for the weekend...

This is my refurbish project. The desk formerly belonged to my mom and is quite old. Not positive just how old though. It's a black metal frame with a pressed wood top with a veneer on it.
We are going to replace the top with a piece of sand grade plywood and paint.

More than likely this will take two days because we are also having to fix the door in the bathroom. Both projects are being done for less than $50.

I sanded all the funky stuff off but left the scuffs and imperfections. I did however tighten the joints too. It two cans of Krylon Gloss Burgundy. I am happy with the results. Its not perfect and that goes great in my kitchen of country apples.

This is an old chair that was abused and neglected at our house when we first moved in two years ago. We kept it because it seems to be a good sturdy chair. Now I am cleaning and painting it.
