A Rough Week

This week has all around been a rough one. It started Monday morning with the news that Jeff's dad had passed away. It was an aortic anyerisum and there was nothing that could have been done to stop it.

Monday afternoon we had made arrangements with Kimmie's and Brittany's dad for them to stay with him and then Allie and Josh were going to be staying with Ron and Wanda or Mom. So, I was to take the girls to their dad and then we would get going.

On the way I wrecked the van. The roads were slick and I lost control when I tapped the brakes. The van is totaled and we had a major mistake of not having collision insurance, so we are out a vehicle with no way to replace it right now. We do know the Lord will provide though. One way or the other.

The blessing is me and the girls walked away from the van and have minor if any injuries. Bumps and bruises soreness but nothing major.

We did go to the funeral and that had it's own trials with things that are going on there. I think things will be okay though.

7.07.06

Gale had come over to help with the house. She and I think it was Kimmie painted the cabinet doors. This picture is during a break and Micah decided to demand some attention. The blue room is Kimmie's, it's where we kept the little ones as we were working on the house.

Progress

We are slowly but surely getting things done with the house. Two of the bedrooms are nearly complete with the painting. One of the bathrooms is nearly finished. We have the first coat of primer in the hall and living room. The living room ceiling still needs to be painted because it is NASTY.

For those of you that pray, please pray for Habitat. They need lots of prayer and support. If you choose to donate to Habitat, it is the Dickson, TN chapter. We are hoping to be able to continue the parquet flooring that is in the hall and livingroom into the bedrooms. That really depends on donations and such there. Also, we really need a fence around the back of the property. It's total 1 acre so about 1/2 or 5/8 is what is needed to be fenced in.

I truly believe that God is in control and he will provide what is needed. And I don't just mean for us either. There are two other families Habitat is working on housing. One is in progress and the other hopes to start in the next month or two. Habitat for Humanity in Dickson, TN needs help though.
