Tennessee's Tax Holiday is coming.

The first Friday in August starts the Tax Holiday Weekend for Tennesseans this year. The official dates are August 7, 2009 12:01am until August 9, 2009 11:59pm.

The tax holiday is intended to aid parents that are sending their kids back to school.

The items that are tax free are limited to clothing, school supplies, and computers under $1500. For a full list see here.

So, if it possible... hold off that back to school spending until August 7th and go hog wild. For many residents it's a savings of 9.5% or more.

The Simple Woman's Daybook~ a weekly meme

Outside my window...
overcast... a bit humid.

I am thinking...
that I wish my kids would get along better... even though I know it's a natural progression through their lifes.... it just gets frustrating at times.

I am thankful for...
the fact that for the most part the kids are healthy. Sure they have issues but they get help. I pray that others get the help they need too.

From the learning rooms...
... not a homeschooler, but I do need to work with the kiddos. Benji still can't hold a pencil correctly... Micah and Josh need to work on reading and comprehension.

From the kitchen...
Everybody is loving my homemade BBQ sauce. Simple recipe and tastes great on everything.

I am wearing...
capris, deigo T, and flip flops... usually bare foot but I am over at mom's

I am creating...
schedules. working on how the house will run once I am going to school.

I am going...
already went.. I am at mom's..

I am reading...
An Ordinary Man by Paul Rosengbana
Special Strength for Special Parents by Nina Fuller
Cherokee Legends by J.T. Garrett
(I may have the titles slightly off or the names misspelled... the books are at home and I am not.)
Power of the Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian.

I am hoping...
that I can get it in gear... there is so much to get done.

I am hearing...
Benji finding all of Nana's toys while A, J, and M are watching Clifford

Around the house...
laundry once I get back over there.

One of my favorite things...
the mountains... I miss them so.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
getting K some new tennis shoes for band camp that starts Wednesday.
getting Benji's inserts and new shoes at PT on Wednesday
keeping up with everybody else.
